Developed by an inventive artist with a passion for gears and steam engines, the Steam LocoCentipede is just one of the many creations from Crabfu Steamworks. Artist I-Wei Huang develops a host of remote-controlled, steam-powered gizmos, including a robot tank, quadrupedal-walker and scuttling crab.
The LocoCentipede uses two small, alcohol-fueled double piston steam engines for power, features a Mamod SE3 boiler and a uses a bunch of other parts from a variety of sources, including Meccano metal elements and a 2-channel Futaba RC.
Check out the LocoCentipede’s specs in more detail here, and take a gander at some impressive quicktime video of the device in action. – [Jeff James]
