Quantcast X-UA-Compatible: IE=EmulateIE7

According to a recent AP story by Yuri Kageyama, a company called ZMP Inc. has developed a new robotic device — dubbed the Miuro — that works with Apple’s ubiquitous iPod. According to the article, the $930 gadget features a top-loading slot for the iPod and two large dome-like wheels for locomotion. It can be directed via remote control and can receive wireless input from a nearby PC. Much to the delight of dancing robot fans everywhere, the little gizmo can also be programmed to roll about and wiggle in time to music.

Miuro will be available in a number of colors, including white, black, red and — my personal favorite — a nice screaming yellow (see below). A bit of research turned up some additional photos on a Portugese technology site and a nice write-up over at Gizmodo. (Source[s]: AP, Gizmodo, Tecnologia (Portugese) – [Jeff James]

Wow, nice robot-slash-iPod-gadget. good thing it wasn’t called iRobot though. :D *chuckles*

But wait, one should consider to shell out 1000 bucks for one nifty gadget! that’s a really hefty price tag.
